New Mexico Themed Cocktail Recipes

Hello and welcome to my latest blog post, New Mexico Themed Cocktail Recipes. New Mexico, also known as the Land of Enchantment, is a state rich in culture, history and culinary traditions. One way to explore the diverse flavors of New Mexico is through its unique and flavorful cocktail creations. In this blog post, we delve into some delicious New Mexico themed cocktail recipes that capture the essence of this vibrant state.

Santa Fe Margarita

Ingredients:

3 ounces silver tequila

2 ounces Cointreau

1 ounce fresh lime juice

1 ounce agave syrup

Salt for rimming

Lime wheel for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Begin by rimming a glass with salt.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and agave syrup with ice.
  3. Shake well and strain into the prepared glass over ice.
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel and enjoy the Southwestern flavors of Santa Fe in the glass!

Hatch Chile Paloma

Ingredients:

3 ounces tequila

2 ounce fresh grapefruit juice

1 ounce lime juice

1 ounce agave syrup

1 ounce chile infused syrup

Top off with Club Soda

Garnish with a grapefruit wheel or a lime wheel or both.

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, combine the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave syrup and chile infused syrup with ice.
  2. Shake well and strain into a glass filled with ice. Salted rim is optional but recommended.
  3. Top with club soda and stir gently.
  4. Garnish with fruit wheels as desired.
  5. Cheers to a spicy twist on the classic Paloma cocktail.

Taos Mule

Ingredients:

3 ounces vodka

2 ounces fresh lime juice

1 ounce agave syrup

2 – 4 ounces ginger beer

Fresh mint leaves

Lime wheel for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a copper mug, muddle a few mint leaves to release their oils.
  2. Fill the mug with ice and add vodka, lime juice and agave syrup.
  3. Top with ginger beer and stir gently.
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel and a sprig of mint for a refreshing and zesty cocktail inspired by the artistic community of Taos.

Desert Sunrise

Ingredients:

3 ounces mezcal

2 ounces prickly pear syrup

1 ounce lime juice

Club soda

Prickly pear slice for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, combine the mezcal, prickly pear syrup and lime juice with ice.
  2. Shake well and strain into a glass filled with ice.
  3. top with club soda for a bubbly finish.
  4. Garnish with a slice of prickly pear for a vibrant and fruity cocktail that captures the colors of the New Mexico desert.
