The Boston Cocktail
When you have had too many days of rain or snow in a row and want to drink something that reminds you of summer, the Boston Cocktail is the one for you. Yes, I am talking to you Seattle!
Add 2 ounces gin, 2 ounces apricot brandy, 1 ounce grenadine and 1 ounce lemon juice into cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake until shaker becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted. Strain ingredients into cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish with lemons as desired.
Boston Cooler
Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 ounces rum, 1 ounce simple syrup and 1 ounce lemon juice. Cover and shake until shaker becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted. Strain ingredients into cocktail glass filled with ice. Top off with lemon lime soda. Garnish with lemons as desired.
When I think of rum, Boston is not what comes to mind. The saying don’t judge a book by its cover applies here. Or should I say, don’t judge a spirit by its state. Rum is very popular in Massachusetts.
Cape Cod Cocktail
Add 3 ounces vodka and 3 ounces cranberry juice to cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake until shaker becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted. Strain ingredients into Collins glass filled with ice. Garnish with lime as desired.
Just making this cocktail has me thinking of Cape Cod. My feet in the sand and the water being way too cold to swim in, or wade in for that matter, even in September! Do you like to swim in cold water?
Contessa Cocktail
A Contessa is someone who is fond of good food. I would like to add they are also fond of good cocktails!
Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 ounces gin, 2 ounces dry vermouth and 2 ounces Aperol. Cover and shake until shaker becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted. Strain ingredients into chilled martini glass. Garnish with oranges as desired.
