Con on the Cob is a tabletop gaming con that takes place in Richfield, Ohio. What is a tabletop gaming con you might ask? It is an amazing weekend filled with board games, card games, RPGs (role playing games for those not in the know), and more. Con on the Cob showcases an art fair display featured artists’ work in fantasy, horror, sci-fi and all things geek. Looking to start your holiday shopping early? Moonshiner’s Ball takes place within the Daniel Boone National Forest, Kentucky. Yes, this part of Kentucky is a Dry County which means there will be no selling of alcohol, but attendees are able to bring their own adult beverages if desired. The Mooonshiner’s Ball website states “You’ll never meet a stranger at the Moonshiner’s Ball,” and I can see why. An amazing location filled with live music from performers near and far, art for the eyes and for the ears, food from local vendors, dancing like nobody’s watching, singing for those that don’t dance and more. VisionCon takes place in Springfield, Missouri. This Can’t Miss Event is a not-for-profit event run by volunteers, and ALL proceeds benefiting local charities! VisionCon is family friendly and showcases features comic books, Cosplay, LARPing (live action role playing; if you didn’t know, now you know) and so much more! Did you know Death will be a special celebrity guest at VisionCon? Well, the actor that portrayed Death on the TV series Supernatural, Julian Richings will be there. VisionCon has actors, voice over actors, Cosplayers, comic book creators and more. If that doesn’t make you Smile, maybe seeing Kevin Keppy in person will! Yes, I went there!

Sugar Pine Music Festival (formerly Hangtown Festival) takes place at the fairgrounds in Grass Valley, California. They had me at permanent bathrooms and showers, yes I am more of a “glamper” than a camper. A couple of the shows artists – Lettuce, Joe Craven and the Honey Island Swamp Band may have had me camping! This Can’t Miss Event is listed as all ages but it does offers craft brews, speciality wine and a very large late night hall for adult late night activities. ScareFest Weekend takes place in Lexington, Kentucky. October 20 -23, 2023 will be this Can’t Miss Event’s 15th year of scaring and entertaining! Their website states they are the sinister side of Comic Con and they are quickly becoming the largest event of its kind. I can definintely see why. Three days of horror, paranormal, panels, workshops, celebrity guests and Cosplay! You know I had to mention the Cosplay! ScareFest is also hosting a Thursday Night Launch Party. Friday Night VIP Party. A Saturday Night Costume Ball. And, a Sunday Rockin Kids Day. There is something for everyone and a great time will be had by all.

Escape Halloween is an annual Can’t Miss Event that takes place for 2 Days in San Bernardino, California. And I am sure you guessed by its name, it takes place the end of October. What I love most about Escape Halloween are the realms. Each realm features its own unique theme and musical treat where you are encouraged and celebrated to dance the night away. Think Alice in Wonderland’s Rabbit Hole without the Evil Queen. Although I am sure you could find an Evil Queen if you look hard enough.

Monsterama takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. Their website states “We are proud to be Atlanta’s only retro horror and sci-fi convention, and we focus on the fantastic in cinema, art, comics, literature, and media” and I am not complaining. 3 days filled with celebrity guests, movie screenings, panels, vendors and their very own Monster Prom.
