Amelia Earhart Cocktail
Add 5 blackberries and 1 teaspoon of sugar into cocktail shaker. Muddle ingredients until broken down. Add 2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce St Germain, 1 ounce lemon juice and ice. Cover and shake until shaker is frosty and most of the ice has melted.
Strain ingredients into a chilled martini glass and start planning your next fly away adventure.
Hawktail Cocktail
Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 ounces light rum and 1 ounce cranberry juice. Cover and shake to stir well. Strain ingredients into glass filling half way.
Add 2 ounces lemonade and 1 ounce blue curaçao into cocktail shaker, NO ICE.
Pour lemonade and blue curaçao over spoon to layer drink. Cheers to red and blue Jayhawks, Hawktail!
You would think with my many attempts to layering cocktails I would be a pro. You can almost see the blue layer under the red layer. Looks like I still need to practice.
Horsefeather Cocktail
The Horsefeather Cocktail is officially known as the Kansas state cocktail. I officially know it is a tasty twist on the Moscow Mule and a cocktail I will enjoy again and again.
Add 2 ounces whiskey, 1 ounce lemon juice and 4 dashes bitters to Collins glass filled with ice. Top off with ginger beer. Garnish with lemon as desired.
Kansas City Ice Water
Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 ounces gin, 2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce lemon juice and 1 ounce triple sec. Cover and shake until shaker becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted.
Strain ingredients into cocktail glass filled with ice. Top off with lemon lime soda. Garnish with lemons or limes as desired.
This cocktail is just in time for hot summer nights in Kansas or wherever you call home. Cheers to my new favorite kind of ice water.
