Hello and welcome to Best Indiana Themed Cocktails. Read on as I share cocktail recipes paying tribute to the Indianapolis 500 speedway, Hoosiers, fast racing cars and sparkly summer drinks. So many tasty treats to try. Cheers to Best Indiana Themed Cocktails.
Green Light Cocktail

Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 ounces vodka, 2 ounces apple schnapps and 1 ounce lemon juice. Cover and shake until shaker becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted. Strain ingredients into chilled martini glass and GO!
The first race of the Indianapolis 500 happened in 1911. Their next event is scheduled to take place May 23, 2023. 500 miles. 200 laps. And too much excitement to count! Tickets for reserved seating vary in price depending on location. To find out prices, schedules and more click here.
Hoosier Heritage Cocktail
Add 2 ounces bourbon, 1 ounce apple cider, 1 ounce lemon juice and 1 ounce maple syrup to cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake until shaker becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted. Strain ingredients into cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish with lemon as desired.
Why the name Hoosier? Once upon a time there was a contractor by the name Hoosier. Hoosier hired employees to help build the Louisville and Portland Canal. He preferred to hire laborers from Indiana. Those laborers were called Hoosier’s Men. Eventually all Indianans were known as Hoosiers. How’s that for heritage?!

Negroni Sbagliato

Negroni Sbagliato, or what I like to call a Negroni Sparkle is a perfect summer cocktail. Or Spring cocktail. Or Autumn cocktail. Okay, it’s just good all year round! Indianapolis Negroni Week will be June 5 – June 11, 2023. Click here to find locations to get your Negroni on!
Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 ounces Campari and 2 sweet vermouth. Cover and shake shaker until it becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted. Strain ingredients into glass filled with ice. I chose large wine glass, champagne flutes are too small. Top off with a sparkling wine of your choice, I went with Prosecco.
Rev to the Red Cocktail
Racers start your engines! Add 2 ounces Firefly Tea Vodka, 1 ounce Cointreau, 1 ounce pineapple juice and 1 ounce grenadine. Cover and shake shaker until it becomes frosty and most of the ice has melted. Strain ingredients into cocktail glass filled with ice.
Started with a racing cocktail, ending with a racing cocktail. I am in awe of race car drivers. Race car mechanics. And the speed! Cheers to your gauges not going into the red!
