Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is an archaeological wonder. It can be found in the Andes Mountain range in South America, PerĂş specifically. The complex is a wonder of architecture, design and history. The Incas called it home. The area has been determined that the site served as for veneration and religious practices.
Unique Architecture

The area does a very good job of protecting the site from a tourist overflow. Preserving the beauty of the area is of high importance. This preservation means makes future plan to spend some holidays in South America a must do on your list. Like most destinations in the country, a trip to Machu Picchu is not very expensive if planned ahead. Consider diving into the historical places that PerĂş has to offer. Remember the area’s official rainy season is October through April. Ticket Machu Picchu has the how, the when, and the where for ticket information.
History with a View

As for the site itself, it is 2430 meters above sea level. It is divided into two zones. The agricultural one, that includes a vast network of artificial terraces. The urban one, formed by diverse constructions and squares.
Agriculture Zone

In the agricultural zones the steps, carved from the stone, stand out. You can also find magnificent views in the different lookouts that overlook the valley. The lookouts are perfect to rest and enjoy the panoramic, and even take a pic-nic!
The Temple of the Three Windows

On the other hand the urban area surrounds the main star of the show, the Sacred Plaza. The Plaza was first designed as a political center. The Center contains three of the main must see buildings. The Temple of the Three Windows. Machu Picchu’s Main Temple. And lastly the Intihuatana. Intihuantana is a monolithic sculpture carved in granite stone that is believed to be used as an astronomical calendar.
Peruvian Culture

It is here that you can indulge in the Incan culture. Explore and discover their rituals, traditions, and even religion. Take a trip to the past you will be amazed by how different their lifestyle was. There is more than just history in Machu Picchu. You will be surrounded by the modern peruvian culture in one of the most breathtaking sites in the world.
Miraflores Park

Outside of the complex, Perú in general is also a very attractive destination for you to experience. Peru has it all! Ecotourism in many Inca ruins situated in valleys and canyons. Birds that float right in front of you due to thermal currents. To “Distrito Miraflores”, where one can rest from trekking and sightseeing all day. The District is a beachfront resort. Here you can dine, shop global brands and local artesanies, gamble or just have a drink.
